The 9th biennial conference on Environmental Psychology. Was held from September 26 to 28, 2011, at Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. With about 350 participants from 30 different countries, the conference was successfull in bringing together people interested in the field of environmental psychology, to meet, share experiences, present research, and discuss ideas with regard to the state of the art in environment and behavior research. Light is essential for human beings. Not only does light allow us to see, it affects our mood, health, and productivity, while shaping deeply the way we experience our surroundings. Because light is ubiquitously present in our environment, it has great potential to influence the way we feel, think, and act, and therefore deserves attention in research across disciplines. The conference coincides with the Glow festival.

This year we also organized a doctoral consortium, preceding the conference. This intensive and interactive day was geared towards in-depth mentoring of PhD students working in this exciting but complex domain of light and the human experience.
